I took liberties–a few–from the Light,
and now they dance
like searing coals in my chest.

From Time I took water
to quench my thirst–
and now in my soul
it blisters.

I stole touch from Evening
and feel myself now
so strange a being
I can find no reason
to pass my days
into night.

I can share this pain with no-one,
this suffocation–
stifling days with no nights.
Not for a moment
thought from madness
finds refuge.
